About Me

Hello, my name is Alyson, and I started my ballet journey many years ago, training as a dancer and teacher before embarking on a career which took me to some exciting destinations overseas.  I then hung up my ballet shoes for several years, turning my hand to raising my two beautiful daughters, but was drawn back to the barre after realising that I had really missed moving to beautiful music.  

I became a Silver Swans licensee in 2017, recognising that teaching ballet to older learners requires an understanding of safe practice and age-appropriate class content. 

More recently I have completed another course at the RAD, Dance for Older Adults. I have now been running Silver Swans with Alyson for several years, and find great pleasure in sharing my love of ballet with people of all ages and backgrounds.

As an older dancer myself, I am well versed in creaky joints and my classes are choreographed with an emphasis on exercising safely with the correct technique, and of course having fun.
